Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 28, 2012 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of James Rayward Broussard, 82, who died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at his residence in Belle Chasse.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services.

James was a veteran of the United States Army who served our country during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Freeport McMoran after 42 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lee White Broussard; daughter, Claudette Marie Broussard and her husband, Gilbert Tiffany, Jr. of Belle Chasse; two grandchildren, Beth Ann Johnson and Christopher Michael Cupp; five great grandchildren, Justin Blake Johnson, Kyleigh Rae Cupp, Kaylee Michelle Cupp, Karley Angelle Cupp and Christopher Michael Cupp, Jr.; and sister, Sheila Broussard Robeaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ursin Clairville Broussard and the former Maggie Bergeron; son, Michael James Broussard; and brothers, Kenneth Broussard and Lindsay Broussard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. and will remain open until time of services on Thursday, June 28, 2012.
