A memorial services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., at Vincent Funeral Home honoring the life of Effie Abshire Choate, 81, who died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at a local nursing home. She is survived by three sons, Donald Choate of Nunez, Allen Ray Hanks of Abbeville and Kenneth Choate of Abbeville; three daughters, Gloria Choate Trahan of Abbeville, Irene Meaux of Meaux and Betty Landry of Abbeville; a beloved son-in-law, Bradley Trahan of Abbeville; , a son-in-law, Dane Meaux of Meaux; a daughter-in-law, Donna Choate of Nunez; a former daughter-in-law, Goldie Choate Broussard; a brother, Joseph Abshire of Alexandria; and numerous grand and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Linus Abshire and Nelson Abshire, a grandson Jay Marceaux and a granddaughter, Joy Landry.
