Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at a 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Jose J.Gutierrez, 75, who died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center. He will be laid to rest at Greene Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Bonnie Gutierrez of Cow Island; two daughters, JoAnn and her husband, Joe Perez and Rose Mary Garcia all of Three Rivers, Texas; two step-daughters, Christal and her husband, Jason Conner of Cow Island, Karen and her husband, Brady Price of Cow Island; one sister, Margaret Parras of Lamesa, Texas ; one brother, Louis Gutierrez of Oakville, Texas; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Gutierrez and the former Maria Jimenez; one sister, Rosa Jimenez; and one grandson, Jason Chabera.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, November 27, from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
