Abbeville—Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Joseph Stanley Semond, 85, who died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Vermilion Health Care Center.
Joe will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Joe retired from Williams Service Group in 1995. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea. He was past commander of American Legion Post 11 in Erie, Pennsylvania for 11 years. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3390. He reached the 32 degree in the Scottish Rite and was a member of Blue Lodger 708.
Beloved husband to Shirley; father to three children, Barbara, David and Debra; sister, Barbara Ann Montet; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Justin, Ashley, Tiffany, Kayla, Kale, and Ernest; eight great grandchildren; adopted granddaughter, Destiny; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dores Simon and the former Beulah Buford; brother, Ray Simon; grandsons, David and Dustin; and sister, Hazel Touchet.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until times of services.
