Thomas James "Tommy T" Trahan
March 4, 1955 — December 13, 2013
He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Deacon Randy Hyde officiating the services.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Trahan, Glenn Trahan, Alvin Primeaux, Terry Prejean, Bobby Neveaux, and Mark Duhon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy’s former football teammates Keith Romero, Philip Bertrand, Ronnie Dupy, Johnny Hargrave, James Michaud and Marion Broussard.
"Tommy T" was a 1973 AHS Graduate. He was an avid athlete and held many high school records in both track and football. In 1990 he was inducted into the AHS Hall of Fame. Tommy was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time at his lake home in Toledo Bend.
He is survived by wife, Mona C. Trahan; a brother, Wilbert Trahan and his wife Kim; nieces, Alisha Trahan, Anna Giles Ivanyisky, Mary Lemaire, Elizabeth Lemaire and Carla Bodin; nephews, Fred Trahan, Matthew Lemaire, Michael Lemaire, Anthony Lemaire, Patrick Lemaire, Frank Fuller and Shane Bodin.
He was preceded in death by parents, Claude Trahan and Giles Frederick Trahan; brothers, Wilfred Trahan and Paul Trahan; sister, Mary Lou Trahan; and a niece, Rene’ Trahan.
Tommy’s family would like to give a special thanks to Nona Grant his caregiver.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday, December 16, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
