He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Henderson Thurman of Abbeville; two sons, David Thurman of Belle Chasse and Jonathan Thurman of Belle Chasse; daughter, Mellissa Thurman of Abbeville; sister, Ruthie Orrick of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Patricia Delcid of Kenner; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Jerome Thurman and the former Irene Opal Smotherman; daughter, Deveyn Thurman; and sisters, Peggy Yancy, Mary Daniell and Opal E. Newhouse.
