Abbeville — Funeral services were held Monday, June 9, 2014 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Gussie Vice Comeaux, 73, who died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at her residence.
She was laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Bill Melancon officiating the services. Pallbearers were Kenny Comeaux, Aaron Comeaux, Gavin Cessac, Jude St. Amant, Tyler M. Sonnier and Dale White.
Gussie was a native and lifelong resident of Abbeville. She was a waitress at several local restaurants. She was a very loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sarah Doucet and her husband Ernest Doucet of Abbeville, and Charlotte Sonnier of Jeanerette; two sons, Kenny Comeaux and his wife Denise of Abbeville, and David Comeaux of Tuscon, Arizona; grandchildren, Jude St. Amant of Abbeville, Tyler M. Sonnier of Jeanerette, Megen Connor of Abbeville, Martika Connor of Abbeville, Aaron Comeaux of Abbeville, Chad Trahan of Abbeville, Christy Marceaux of Maurice, Chelly Comeaux of Tucson, AZ and Lily Comeaux of Abbeville; great grandchildren, Brentin St. Amant, Bryson Sellers, Taelynn Sellers, Jaden Jansen, Camden Thibodeaux, Trenton Hebert and Deshean Huntsberry ; brothers, Exie Vice and L.J. Vice; and sister, Shirley Theall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Allen Comeaux; son, Joseph Comeaux; parents, Lawrence Vice and the former Lilly Lege; son-in-law, Mark E. Sonnier; mother-in-law, Amenthe Hebert Comeaux; father-in-law, Lydia Comeaux; brother, Elvin Vice; and sisters, Nola Roy and Mildred Touchet.
