Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Richard James Istre, 71, who died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery with Brother Mark Broussard officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Istre of Kaplan; two sons, Paul James Istre and his wife, Anna of Kaplan and John Allen Istre and his wife, Crystal of Kaplan; eight grandchildren, Tanner Istre, Garrett Istre, Angel Istre, Rory Istre, Ty Istre, Colton Istre, Matthew Istre, and Camille Istre, all of Kaplan; and one great granddaughter, Sophie Istre of Kaplan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delma Istre and the former Rita Mae McLeod; and one brother, Jackie Istre, Sr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
