Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Mathilde LeBouef Simon, 90, who died Tuesday, October 14, 2014.
She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Louis Richard officiating the services.
Mrs. "Mot" as she was called by her close friends loved getting together every Saturday with her Coffee Party Ladies. She loved being outdoors, whether it was on a lawn mower or fishing.
She was a huge New Orleans Saints Fan. Mot enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed!
She is survived by her children, Winnie LeBlanc and her husband Steve of Abbeville, Lana Stoute and her husband Ronald of Erath, Jimmy Simon and Freda of Duson and Roslyn Simon and her husband Bryan of Maurice; ten grandchildren, Scott LeBlanc, Jennifer Toups, Anne-Maria LeBlanc, Erica Martin, Brooke Bernard, Katherine Riemann, Clinton Simon, Noah Pontiff, Kacy Simon and Meg Simon; and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Luther Simon; parents, Desire LeBouef and the former Rita Guidry; and brothers, Marion LeBouef, Melvin LeBouef, Murphy LeBouef and Milton LeBouef.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 1:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, October 17, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
