Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Percy Joseph LeBlanc, 92, who died Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Eastridge Nursing Center.
He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Father Neil Pettit officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Jed Frederick, Kevin Stoute, Clay LeBlanc, Charles Mathias, Craig Miller and Kimberly Stoute.
Percy was a veteran of the United States Air Force who served our country proudly during World War II. He was a B-24 tail gunner having served in North Africa and Central Europe.
Percy was called "Lefty" by his close friends and co-workers with whom he loved to pass a good time. He was known as "Paw Paw" Percy to his grandchildren and great grandchildren to whom he would deliver donuts on Sunday mornings when he was still able to drive.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lucille B. LeBlanc; son, Charles LeBlanc; daughters, Trula L. Stoute and Theresa L. Broussard and her husband Mike; six grandchildren, Alison Miller, Jed Frederick, Kelli Mathias, Kevin Stoute, Kimberly Stoute and Clay LeBlanc; and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard LeBlanc and the former Dora Choate Veazey; brothers, Curtis LeBlanc and Roland Veazey; sister, Joyce Stephens; son-in-law, Donald Stoute; and daughter-in-law, Sara Hearn LeBlanc.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
In lieu of flowers, the LeBlanc family requests that memorial donations be made in Percy J. LeBlanc's memory to Father Joseph LaFleur Memorial Fund c/o St. Landry Catholic Church,
