Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Ella Mae Gaspard Broussard, 76, who died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.

She is survived by her son, John W. Akin; five daughters, Carolyn Suire, Stephanie Ramos, Dena Romero, Naomie Gaspard, and Barbara Guidry; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Broussard; one son, John Harold Akin; one sister, Mary Lou Gaspard; her parents, Jacques Gaspard and the former Noemie Roy; her step-father, Rodolph Lege; and one grandson, Jared Akin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 5 p.m. until services with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.
