Louis "Lc" Cyril Smith

September 30, 1927 — February 9, 2015

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Louis “LC” Cyril Smith, 87, who died Monday, February 9, 2015 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services.

LC was born on September 30, 1927 in Gueydan, LA, where he lived his entire life. A hard worker and jack of all trades, he worked as a farmer, carpenter, cook, plumber, construction worker, and a custodian. He owned and retired from Smith’s Auto Repair Shop, where he believed that bondo could fix anything.

LC was a great hunter! He always joked about being an outlaw and loved telling the story of D-Day and the Peanut Man. He loved spending time with his family and creating them to do lists. He anxiously anticipated every annual Duck Festival. He enjoyed all his animals and adored his beloved dogs, Ike, Tiny, T-Neg, and Lisa. He also treasured his ’72 Cheyenne. LC was loved by everyone! Rest in peace Paran. We will always love and remember you!

He is survived by his wonderful wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Premeaux Smith; his adopted daughter, Dawn and her husband, Noel Hinton; two grandsons, Cameron and Aiden Hinton; one sister, Ouida Breaux; two nieces, Carla Smith Bourque and Ann Smith Webb; two nephews, Raymond and Darren Smith; two great nieces, Destiny Duclion and Jennifer Smith Lewis; and two great nephews, Dale Duclion and Dusty Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Saul Harry Smith and the former Olivia Saltzman; three brothers, Nelton, Saul "Tookie", and Stanford Smith; and four sisters, Palmare Breaux, Emma Smith, Ester Means, and Olivia "Fay" Bourque.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ronald Lewis, Heart of Hospice, and Gueydan Memorial Guest Home for taking such great care of him.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6 p.m.; Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 8 a.m. until services.
