Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Ritter Paul Trahan, 79, who died Monday, February 16, 2015 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Cedric Sonnier officiating the services.

Trahan was a long time educator and Police Juror, serving as President from 2000 to 2004.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Wade Trahan; one daughter, Ada Trahan Gaspard; five grandchildren, Grant Trahan, Ross Gaspard, Christian Trahan, Hayes Trahan, and Millie Gaspard; long time companion, Mary Joyce Dugas and her family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred B. Trahan; his parents, Opha Trahan and the former Lula Trahan; and one brother, Leo D. Trahan.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Our Lady of Fatima School – Department of Exceptional Children or Cathedral Carmel School.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, February 20, 2015 from 8 a.m. until services.
