Kaplan - Mr. Schexneider died February 19, 2015 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals including the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Sharp Shooter Badge.

He will be laid to rest during a private ceremony with full military honors at Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary, LA.

Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer and her husband, John Marceaux; one grandson, James Marceaux; his mother, Ena Vincent; and one brother, Donnie Schexneider and his wife, Cheryl.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Schexneider; and three brothers, Russell Schexneider, Rodney Schexneider, and Edwin Schexneider Jr.
