Nelda Abshire Libersat

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Neil Pettit officiating the services.
Nelda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a passion for needlepoint, crocheting and sewing. She was a dedicated school teacher who touched the lives of many students.
She is survived by her children, Albert Libersat and his wife, Cheryl of Lafayette, Martha Stanley and her husband, James of Georgetown, TX, Ruth Cronan and her husband, Chris of Lake Charles and Ralph Libersat and his wife, Kim of Abbeville; two sisters, Lula Monceaux of Kaplan and Jane Abshire of Kaplan; eleven grandchildren, Kevin Libersat, Kelli Seely, Kyle Libersat, Matt Stanley, Tim Stanley, Sean Stanley, Nicholas Cronan, Daniel Cronan, Michael Cronan, Cy Libersat and Anna Libersat; and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Libersat, Jr.; parents, Untim Abshire and the former Delta Herpin; brother, Jim Abshire; sister, Helen Fay Abshire; and a granddaughter, Michelle Libersat.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice and The Guardian House of Lake Charles for the care they provided to Nelda during her time of need.
