Willis Joseph Broussard

May 23, 1923 — April 8, 2015

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Willis Joseph Broussard, 91, who died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Abbeville General Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Marcus Broussard, Charles Broussard, Jules Broussard, Keith Faulk, Blake Blanchard and Tristan Latiolais. Lectors will be Jill Broussard and Ella Jane Dore. Giftbearers will be Phyllis Gaspard, Becky Duhon and Liz Dartez. John Luquette, vocalist, and Julia Boudreaux, organist, will perform for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Ave Maria", "J'irai La Voir Un Jour" and "On Eagle's Wings".

Willis was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed life to its fullest, everyone that knew him loved him. Family meant the world to him. He loved to barbeque and have bonfires for the kids.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Louella Hebert Broussard; son, Mansel Charles Broussard and his wife, Michelle of Abbeville; daughter, Deborah Ann Broussard of Abbeville; five grandchildren, Jules Broussard, Marcus C. Broussard, Alicia Jill Broussard, Blake Blanchard and Heather Trosclair; eleven great grandchildren, Kennedy Klaire Broussard, Tristan Latiolais, Jordan Blanchard, Devin Blanchard, Logan Blanchard, Makayla Broussard, Caleb Broussard, Vincent Broussard, Evanna Broussard, Aubrie Trosclair and Colin Trosclair; and sister, Alva Mae Broussard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mansel Broussard and the former Cecile Broussard; son, Billy Wayne Broussard; brothers, Joseph Broussard and Nelson P. Broussard; and sister, Irene B. Frederick.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, April 10, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
