Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Delfred Landry, 88, who died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Audubon Health and Rehabilitation. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Cedric Sonnier officiating the services.
He served farmers in different capacities most of his life before retiring with Vermilion Bank as a loan officer. Mr. Landry served the City of Kaplan as City Councilman. He also served on many boards and committees including board of director of Louisiana Energy and Power Association, board of director of Kaplan Housing Authority, member of Vermilion Parish Jury Commission, member of Knights of Columbus, member of American Legion Post #271, and member and past commander of VFW Post #3793.
He is survived by his three sons, Richard Landry and his wife, Linda of Kaplan, Danny Landry and his wife, Jayne of Opelousas, and Todd Landry of Parker, CO; two daughters, Jackie and her husband, Robert Guillory and Debra and her husband, Craig Curry, both of Schriever, LA; fourteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aurelie and Nella Landry; his spouse, Anna Mae Castro Landry; one daughter, Jamie Broussard; one son-in-law, Roddie Broussard; two sisters; and two brothers.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 8 a.m. until services.
