Vernon Mayard Sellers

She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.
Pallbearers will be her four grandsons and three sons-in-law.
Vernon was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, member and past president of St. Mary Magdalen Ladies Altar Society, and member of St. Mary Magdalen Lay Carmelites.
Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, gardening and the Cajun Club parties.
She is survived by her three daughters, Wal'Dean Lundquist and her husband, Carl of LaPorte, TX, Claire Motty and her husband, Andre of Abbeville, LA, and Tracey Howard and her husband, James of Naples, FL; six grandchildren, James Lundquist and his wife, Bethany, Stephen Lundquist, Andrea Humble and her husband, Gary, Matthew Motty and his wife, McKenzie, Rick Dembrun and his wife, Jessica, and Rachel Hubel and her husband, Nick; two great grandchildren, Grant Humble and Evan Humble; sister, Lucille Mayard Bernard; and sisters-in-law, Cecile Mayard, Nola Meyers and Rexine Sellers.
She was preceded in death by her husbandof 64 years, Walton "Blondie" Sellers; infant daughter, Rachel Sellers; parents, Olivier and Marie Aurore Mayard; brothers, Ira Mayard, (twin) Curtis (Mayard) Meyers and Natley Mayard; and sisters, Margaret Trahan and Louella Delcambre.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
