Minos Elie Manceaux
May 28, 1931 — April 21, 2015
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Manceaux, Reese Manceaux, Neil Steen, Heath Doucet, Kevin Manceaux and Dewey Derouen.
Minos was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a veteran of the United States Army who served our country during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Chervon/Texaco after 41 years of service. In his spare time he enjoyed camping with family and gardening. He was one of the original band members of the Abbeville Playboys.
He is survived by his two sons, Dwayne Manceaux and his wife, Alisa of Erath and Reese Manceaux of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Sharla M. Steen and husband Neil of Maurice; son-in-law, Mike Granger; five grandchildren, Heath Doucet, Brandon Doucet, Bridget Derouen, Lindsy Manceaux and Morgan Steen; six great grandchildren, Olivia Derouen, Nathan Derouen, Allie Touchet, Damian Touchet, Jr., Braden Doucet and Briley Doucet; sister, Hazel Duhon; and sister-in-law, Brenda Manceaux.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy LeBlanc Manceaux: parents, Willie and Olite Manceaux; daughter, Marina Granger; granddaughter, Tamara Davidson; and brother, Adra Manceaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
