She was a native of Kaplan and resident of Abbeville. Rita was a 1954 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School.
She is survived by her two sons, Earl Brian Parquette and his wife, Cheryl of Diamond Bar, CA and Gregory John Parquette and his wife, Celeste of Diamond Bar, CA; one daughter, Annette and her husband, Robert Derise of Abbeville; seven grandchildren, Chris Derise, Jonathan Derise, Desire' Derise, Monique Parquette, Tyler Parquette, Trevor Parquette, and McKenna Parquette; and two sisters, Jeanne Miles of Pomona, CA and Joyce Molbert of Breaux Bridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale V. LaSource; her parents, Elise Dartez and the former Azilda Leleux; her step-parents, Eugene and Annette Vincent; one sister, Anne Mae Bonin; one brother, Laodice "Black" Dartez; and the father of her children, Earl Julien Parquette.
The family would like to thank the staff of Eastridge Nursing Center and Louisiana Hospice.
