Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church honoring the life of Carroll James Touchet, 68, who died Monday, May 25, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
He will be laid to rest at Hebert Cemetery with Reverend Emmanuel Fernandez officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Anthony Segura, J.J. Turner, Landon Stelly, Trae Thomas, Cody Racca and James Belanger. Honorary pallbearers will be Corey Bourque and Wilton "Wine" Touchet. Gift bearers will be Dawn Racca, Hailey Leger and Erica Touchet. Lectors will be Jill Rageur and Monique Vice.
A resident of Abbeville for all of his life, Carroll was a proud husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War with the United States Marine Corps where he received three purple hearts. His hobbies included trail riding in his younger days, working in his garden and most of all spending time with his family and friends on his front porch. He will be remembered by all as always making others laugh and he was often the life of the party. He was a friend to all that he met. Carroll will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jenny; son, Brandon John Touchet and his wife Erica; two daughters, Nichole Touchet and Treva Touchet; sister, Linda Turner; three grandchildren, Dawn Racca and her husband Cody; Trae Thomas and Hailey Leger; and a great grandson, Carsyn Racca.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mayo and Helen Touchet; and two sisters, Carolyn Sehon and Lula Breaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday May 27, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
