Harry Clostio, 98, and Benita Clostio, 94, died together in their Kaplan home on June 6, 2015.

Harry was born March 8, 1917 in Kaplan to Rodolph and Egete Clostio. Benita was born July 29, 1920 to Alcide and Lima Rose Lege.

They were married young, 20 and 17 in Kaplan on November 6, 1937. Harry was a mechanic for Robley Duhon Case Tractor Company at the time. They were completely in love and ready to start a family and their lifelong journey together. They honeymooned in New Orleans with family and friends and then headed back home to Kaplan. They had many trials, tribulations, good times, and bad. After 13 long years Benita finally became pregnant with their first son, Russell. Four years after that, another son, Danny. Their family was complete and full of love.

Throughout the years, Benita was a very loving and caring wife and mother. She took care of everything at home, including Harry. Harry was a very prominent member of the community. A business owner /co-owner of Clostio & Hardy, Oliver Tractor Company from 1954 - 1969. And from then, went on to work and retire from many other companies. Acadiana Ford where he was an Auto mechanic and Frenzel Motors where he was an Auto mechanic. He was also a mechanic at the Police Jury for mosquito control and a Handyman at Country Hardware.

In their late life, they were avid gardeners, and loved spending time with each other, family, and friends.

Harry and Benita are survived by their two sons, Russell Clostio and wife, Sharon Clostio and Danny Clostio and wife, Pamela Emery; seven grandchildren, Corey Clostio and wife, Libby Clostio, Kaysie Clostio, Jeremy Clostio and wife, Amie Clostio, Melisa Wimarth, Christopher Clostio and wife, Sarah Clostio, Brittany Stevens and husband, Raywood Stevens, and Lindsay Theriot and husband, Justin Theriot; seventeen great grandchildren, Justin Gajan, Tyler Gajan, Payton Clostio, Ryan Gajan, Courtney Gajan, Morgan Clostio, Dylan Clostio, John Edward Clostio, Phillip Clostio, Sadie Sonnier, Aiden Clostio, Cadan Wilmarth, Adelynn Theriot, Karsyn Clostio, Harper Clostio, Willa Clostio, and Raywood "Woody" Stevens Jr.; two great-great grandchildren, Addison Gajan and Juliet Gajan; one sister-in-law, Clara Clothiaux; and many loving nieces and nephews.

They were preceded in death by Harry's parents, Rodolph Clostio and Egete Hardy Clostio; Benita's parents, Alcide Lege Jr. and Lima Rose Leonard Lege; his siblings, Arvis "Shook" Clostio and wife, Eunice Clostio, Marguerite Clostio Trahan and husband, Ulysse Trahan, and Eugene Clothiaux; her siblings, Miguel Lege and his wife, Sevilea Lege, Electa Lege Bourque and husband, Noah Bourque, Gaston Lege and wife, Marie Lege, Houston "Bee" Lege and wife, Agnes Lege, Mae Lege Bonin and husband, William Bonin; and a nephew, Steven Lege.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Kaplan Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Russell Clostio, Corey Clostio, Jeremy Clostio, Raywood Stevens, Donald Clostio, and Michael Trahan.

The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts, and many prayers. Those who knew Harry and Benita know that they never spent a night apart and that their love was a true in the purest sense of the word. In the words of a close family friend, although it is a tragedy this is the ending to a truly amazing love story.
