Vickie was married to Ralph Thompson on February 14, 2014, who survives her, and with whom she shared many laughs and loving moments. She is also survived by two children, Kristie Meaux Saltzman and Randall Meaux; one stepson, John Lively Jr.; one son-in-law, Brian Saltzman; two grandchildren, Brett Saltzman and Blair Saltzman; two step-grandchildren, Lauren Lively and John “Jack” Lively III; six siblings, Julia Campbell, Mona Mestayer (husband James), Henrietta Caillouet, Bobby Joe Hebert (wife Tina), Ron Hebert (wife Annette) and Don Hebert (wife Virginia); and many nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends; all of whom were blessed to experience her love and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Ledora Hebert; two brothers-in-law, David Caillouet and Milton Campbell; and one nephew, Christopher Scott Trahan. Vickie’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to her physicians and to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice of Acadiana, especially her nurses, Carla, Cheryl and Kathleen, for all of the wonderful care, attention and love that they brought to her while caring for her.

Vickie recently attained and celebrated “five years cancer free” status, after a battle with breast cancer in 2010. She was a member of the St. Theresa Gospel Choir for over twenty years, where she played her tambourine and sang like a beautiful bird. Vickie also enjoyed listening and dancing to Cajun and zydeco music, and she loved spending quality time with her family and friends. Everyone who met her loved her many hilarious moments and her beautiful and contagious smile…she will surely be missed by all!

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home in Abbeville (209 S. St. Charles Street) on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; and Thursday, June 11, 2015, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
