Link's passion in life was his family and his work. He was a very devoted husband and father, who loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jones Silar; son, Nathaniel Silar; daughter, Avery Silar; sister, Jodie Silar; brother, John Silar and his wife Patti; niece, Kelley Christinson; nephew, David Silar; and great niece, Addison Silar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Silar and the former Mary Ines Choate.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
