Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Marie Touchet Abshire, 86, who died Monday, November 23, 2015 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Rev. Mark Miley officiating the services.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Leonard of Kaplan; two brothers, Philip Touchet of Pitkin and Arville Touchet of Cow Island; two sisters, Shirley Thibodeaux of Kaplan and Zulu Perry of Port Barre; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elzay Abshire; one son, Voris Abshire; and her parents, Semar Touchet and the former Alix LeBlanc.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 8 a.m. until services with a rosary being prayed at 11 a.m.
