Howard C. Broussard
May 18, 1928 — November 29, 2015
Howard was a true cowboy and a legend to all his cattlemen. He had a heart of gold and big as the cattle he’d rope and the horse that he rode. Among those who were honored to know him, were called “vieux podna” or “vieux buddy”. Howard was a devoted husband and father. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He has inspired many and will be missed by all. Until we meet again, “The Cowboy Rides Away”.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Broussard of Forked Island; one son, Ken Broussard and his wife, Claudette of Forked Island; one daughter, Debbie and her husband, Daniel Gaspard of Forked Island; five grandchildren, Cody Gaspard, Mitzi LeMoine, Casey Broussard, Dusty Broussard, and Stoney Broussard; and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Broussard and the former Mable Porter; and one granddaughter, Arissia Broussard.
The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus and Kaplan Healthcare Center for their loving care.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 8 a.m. until services.
