Stephen Marshall Leblanc

July 13, 1967 — January 23, 2016

Stephen Marshall “Marsh” LeBlanc died unexpectedly on January 23, 2016 at the age of 48. He was the youngest of 7 children born to Maxine Landry and Roland F. LeBlanc. He was born on July 13, 1967. At the young age of 4, his mother died, so he was cared for by many family members including his father, grandmothers, great aunts, and older siblings. He graduated from Abbeville High School and attended USL. He worked at Riviana Rice Mill for many years. At the time of his death he was working for HUB Enterprises in security.


Marshall was hard working, and took pride in his jobs. He enjoyed his down time fishing, hunting, and barbequing with friends. He was very proud of his many nieces and nephews. He always entertained them with a fireworks show at Christmas and other holiday celebrations.

Marshall was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Landry LeBlanc, and grandparents, Maxie and Paula Landry, and Senator Dudley and Evelyn LeBlanc. He is survived by his father, Roland F. LeBlanc, siblings; Leah Foster, Roland LeBlanc, Jr., Terry and Kitty LeBlanc, Theresa and Randy Rabeaux, Laura and Allen McLain, and Tommy LeBlanc and Barbara Sandoz. He is also survived by 29 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins.

Visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home, in Abbeville on Tuesday, January 26 from 4:00 until 8:00 with a rosary being led by the Men of Mary group at 6:30 p.m. Visitation resumes on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. A funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville. Officiating the mass will be Fr. Brian Harrington and Monsignor Charles Mallet.

Pallbearers include Marshall’s nephews, Alex Foster, Roland LeBlanc III, Eric LeBlanc, Tommy Rabeaux, John McLain and Allen McLain, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Lucky Marceaux, Cade Hebert, Tab Hebert, Ricky Cornez, Danny Chapman, and Mike Prejean, a few of his close friends.

Burial will be at Saint Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Carmel Elementary School, Vermilion Catholic High School, Family Life Mission Company, or masses in memory of Marshall LeBlanc.
