Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Genevia Dartez Broussard, 77, who died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be David Suire, Kyle Griffin, Carl Cormier, Curt Cormier, Zachary Suire, Brandon Suire, and Blake Mire.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Allen D. Broussard of Kaplan; four sons, Brian and his wife, Jackie Robichaux Suire of Lafayette, Scott Suire of Texas, John Suire and his wife, Pamela of Lafayette, and David Suire and his wife, Kayla of Alexandria; one daughter, Camila and her husband, Kevin Griffin of Kaplan; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanville Dartez and the former Amanda Primeaux; two daughters, Tara and Pamela Broussard; two brothers, Dennis and Billy Dartez; and one grandchild, Patra Griffin.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, March 18, 2016 from 8 a.m. until services.
