Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2016 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Louis "Babin" Hebert, 80, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at his residence. He fought a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Gregory Cormier officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Louis, Lloyd, Todd, T-Boy, Joshua, and Don. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald, Casey, Peter, and Neil.
Louis served in the Army Reserve for three years. He was the owner/operator of Hebert's Electrical Service and at one time was employed with Avondale Shipyard.
He is survived by his four daughters, Lisa Williams and her husband Neil of Erath, Donna Choate and her husband Donald of Abbeville, Shirley Sonnier and her husband Casey of Erath, and Elizabeth Davis and her husband Don of Leesville; four step-children, Kim, Johnny, Jack, and Karen; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; brother, Peter; and three sisters, Audrey, Barbara, and Priscilla.
He was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Betty Broussard; parents, Deusard "BaBa" Hebert and the former Unez Jeanne Landry; infant daughter, Debra; brothers, Russell, Larry, and Roy Paul; and two great grandchildren, Brandon and Louis.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:30 p.m.; Monday, March 21, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
