Gueydan - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church honoring the life of Virginia Richard Cormier, 86 years, who died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. She will be laid to rest at Hanks Cemetery with Reverend Clint Trahan officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Britt Cormier, Clay Cormier, Tim Guidry, Brad Guidry, Heath Clark, and Bryson Louvierre.

She is survived by her son, Michael A. Cormier and his wife, Sharon of Morse; four daughters, Brenda and her husband, Roger Guidry of Mermentau, Dean and her husband, Jerry Clark of Morse, Pamela Cormier and her husband, Shane Ewing of Slidell, and Mena and her husband, Dale Louvierre of Morse; one sister, Norma Cates of Morse; four brothers, Oran Richard of Jennings, Paul Richard of Gueydan, Kermit Richard of Morse, and Larry Richard of Morse; 14 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Telesmar Richard and the former Virgie Hargrave; one brother, Elbe Richard; and three sisters, Hilda Duhon, Myrna Kibodeaux, and Margaret Broussard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 1:00 PM until services with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM.
