Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Mission Chapel honoring the life of Pauline “Polly” Hebert Meaux, 94 years old, who died Monday, February 6, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center after a long and happy life. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Gary Schexnayder officiating the services.
Polly loved playing cards, dancing, bowling, and baking. She was a member of the home demonstration club and was well known for having a sweet tooth. She and her husband owned and operated Dixie Home Supply in Kaplan for a number of years. Following the sale of the business, she worked at Flo’s Dress Shop and Marilyn’s Fashions.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda and her husband, Richard Abshire and Darlene and her husband, Kirk Greene; one son, Ken Meaux and his wife Terry; one sister, Jewell Pavur; three grandchildren, Sherrie, Tricia, and Mitchell; and five great grandchildren, Brandon, Katie, Nora, Remy, and Shepherd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Remic Meaux; one son, Marion Meaux; three sisters, Louise Primeaux, Adele LeBouef, and Zoe Bodin; and one brother, Leo Hebert.
The family would like to give special thanks and appreciation to the entire staff at Bethany Healthcare of Lafayette for the wonderful personal care they gave to their mother.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM; Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM when the procession departs for the church. A gathering of family and friends will take place at Cabrini Hall following the service.
