Julia T. Simon

January 22, 1932 — February 16, 2017

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan honoring the life of Julia T. Simon, 85 years old, who died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Clint Trahan officiating the services.

Julia was a teacher at St. Peters School for 28 years and she was also the choir director for St. Peters Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son, Shelby Simon and his wife, Cheryl of Gueydan; one sister, Bertha Stutes of Dallas, TX; three grandchildren, Jason Simon and his wife, Kim of Lake Charles, Jarrod Simon and his wife, Gail of Gueydan, and Jill Simon of Deridder; two great granddaughters, Moughnay E. Greene of Cut Off and Brianna C. Simon of Lake Charles; and two step-great grandchildren, Keavin Richard of Lafayette and Kurstie Richard of Gueydan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sheldon Simon; one infant son, Sheldon Simon, Jr.; and one infant daughter, Nadine Simon.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home in Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 9:00 AM until services with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.
