Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Anna Mae Plaisance, 90, who died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Julius "Chere" Plaisance; six godchildren, Fannie and her husband, Stacy Broussard of Gueydan, Rusty Doucet and his wife, Michelle of Duson, Brenda Leger of Abbeville, Karl Keith Dartez and his wife, Mona Faye of Longville, LA, Jenny Lynn and her husband, Brian Blanchard of Louisville, KY, and Susan Plaisance LaCombe of Gueydan; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oddla Meaux, Sr. and the former Orelia Comeaux; four brothers, Maxie Meaux, Floyd Meaux, Eulice Meaux, and Oddla Meaux, Jr.; and one sister, Lydia M. Frederick.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church.
