Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Mae Rose Dubois Matte, 79, who died Friday, April 14, 2017 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.
Mae Rose was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was crowned the 2017 Mardi Gras Queen at Kaplan Health Care.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, LG Matte of Kaplan; two sons, Allen David Matte and his wife, Julie of Kaplan and Aaron Charles Matte and his wife, Susan of Port Neches, TX; one daughter, Glenda "Susie" and her husband, Paul Touchet of Kaplan; one brother, Edwin Dubois of New Iberia; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Wayne "Wildchild" Matte; two daughters, Cheryl Ann Matte and Patricia Rose Matte; five brothers; two sisters; and her parents, Masucle Dubois and the former Enita Vidalier.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Sunday, April 16, 2017 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Monday, April 17, 2017 from 8:00 AM until services.
