Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Howard Joseph Schexnyder, 80, who died Monday, April 24, 2017 at AMG Specialty Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Harrington Cemetery with Reverend Paul Bienvenu officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann L. Schexnyder of Kaplan; three sons, Wallace Schexnyder of Kaplan, Bill Schexnyder and his wife, Candise of Alexandria, and Thomas Schexnyder and his wife, Sabrina of Alabama; one daughter, Marian Schexnyder of Kaplan; one sister, Vernola and her husband, Wilson Fung of Walker; four grandchildren, Sally Schexnyder, Jon Schexnyder, Cassandra Schexnyder, and Thomas Patrick Schexnyder; and four great grandchildren, Colby Thibodeaux, Noah Thibodeaux, Hailey Howe, and Peyton Schexnyder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Schexnyder and the former Mable Marceaux; three sons, Howard Joseph Schexnyder, Jr., Howard Joseph Schexnyder, III, and Bobbie Schexnyder; two daughters, Sally and Elizabeth Schexnyder; and one sister, Ruby Primeaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 8:00 AM until services.
