Gueydan—Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan honoring the life of Alvin “Phil” Boudreaux, 72, who died Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. Reverend Corey Campeaux will be officiating the services.
“Phil” was an avid hunter and sportsman. In his earlier years, he was a farmer. Phil enjoyed the southern French culture, and he learned to speak French with his grandparents. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, always making everyone laugh.
He is survived by his companion, Jeri Chapman of Gueydan; one son, Dustin Carriere and his wife, Carmen of Church Point; one daughter, Nikki Murray and her husband, Paul of Port Neches, TX; seven grandchildren, Darian, Kali and Luke Murray of Port Neches, TX, Lance, Brett and Ashlee Benoit and Aaron Carriere of Church Point; one sister, Karen Fontenot of Lake Arthur; one brother, Troy Fruge and his wife, Kimberly Talen Fruge of Lafayette; one sister-in-law, Loretta Boudreaux Freeland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary LarReed Fruge; his father, Alvin Boudreaux; one brother, Roderick Boudreaux; one sister, Joy Fruge; and one brother-in-law, Michael Fontenot.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the services at 2:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 12:30 PM.
