Carrie T. Breaux, 93, born on December 26, 1931, who was a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home, leaving behind a legacy of love and culinary excellence. She was born and raised in Forked Island / Cow Island. Known fondly as Ms. Carrie and Maw Carrie, she touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and generous heart.
A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Suresh Mathangi will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 6, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Suire Cemetery.
Carrie dedicated her early career to Larry's Super Foods, where she not only excelled as a great cook but also became renowned for her incredible baking skills. Her tarts and pralines were loved by all who had the pleasure of tasting them, and she was often the star of family gatherings and community events.
In addition to her culinary talents, Carrie had a special place in her heart for the little ones at Early Years, where she nurtured and cooked for countless children. Her gentle nature and loving demeanor made her a favorite among the kids.
Carrie was also an active member of the St. Anne Ladies Alter Society, where she found joy in serving her community and connecting with others who shared her faith.
A visitation will take place at St. Anne Catholic Church on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10:30 AM until 1:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 11:30 AM.
She is survived by three sons, Marvin Breaux (Maria) of Brazil, Roger Breaux (Myra) of Kaplan and Darrel Breaux (Katina) of Kaplan; two daughters, Charlene Breaux Gross of Canton, GA and Ginger Breaux of Lafayette; one brother, Jeffery Touchet of Canton, GA; eight grandchildren, Lexi, Jase, Blake, Dawn, Ana, Dana, Brittany and Seth; and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lovelace J. Breaux; parents, Odelon Touchet and the former Rena Guidry; and three brothers, Joseph D., Oreal and Vernice Touchet.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Juanita Davis, Carrie's caregiver, for the exceptional care and compassion she provided during Carrie's later years. Your kindness will always be remembered.
Carrie Breaux leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and delectable treats. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
