Cordell was a loving, devoted man to his family and friends and generous to all. He made sure all were taken care of. He was often sharing the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and beamed with pride as he did.
He was proud of his hometown of Henry, Louisiana. From his younger years serving as an altar boy in his church to being part of the Henry volunteer fire department, Cordell gave of his time to keep the community going. He worked tirelessly all of his life in the oil and gas industry then finally gave in to retirement just a couple years ago. He never met a stranger and his circle of friends was plenty, from the stools at Don’s Boat Landing and all the way to Canada. He was loved by many.
A motorcycle enthusiast, Cordell found freedom and exhilaration on the open road, often sharing this passion with family and friends. His adventurous spirit and zest for life will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife and confidant, Monica Lege Theriot; sons, Justin Theriot and his wife, Heather, and Jason Theriot; five grandchildren, Dylan Presley, Adelynn Theriot, Sky Harrington, Ava Harrington, and Lyle Broussard; stepchildren, Dustin Gaspard, and Emily Gaspard and fiancé, Stoney Broussard. Cordell considered them all his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elie Jean Batiste Theriot and the former Dorothy Mae "Shine" Menard; brothers, Allen Theriot and Terry Theriot; and son, Jonathan Theriot.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cordell Theriot’s memory to Louisiana Right to Life (LARTL), https://www.prolifelouisiana.org.
