Deborah Stelly Broussard

ABBEVILLE - Funeral services officiated by Deacon William Vincent held at 10:30 AM on Monday May 4, 2026, honoring the life of Deborah Stelly Broussard, 68, who passed away on Saturday April 25, 2026, at the Calcutta House. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin J. Broussard, Chris Peltier, Brody Suire, Grayson Goetz, Gabe Richard, and Leon Maitre, Jr.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home 209 S. Saint Charles St. Abbeville Sunday May 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday May 4, 2026, from 8:00 AM until the time of the service.

Deborah was a devoted and ever-present mother and proud grandmother who generously gave her time to her family, friends, and community. She was always the one who showed up—serving as a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout volunteer, and a constant presence at her children’s schools. She was also actively involved in local festivals and community events. If there was a need, she answered it without hesitation. As a familiar and trusted figure to school staff and students, Deborah naturally became a substitute teacher, where she continued to support others. As her children grew older, she provided home health care to the elderly and those in need, offering comfort and compassion. In recent years, as her health declined, she stepped back from the activities she loved, but her giving spirit and devotion to her family remained unchanged. Deborah is survived by her husband of forty nine years, Phillip Dale Broussard; her daughter, Crystal M. Broussard; her son, Kevin J. Broussard and his wife, Julia Denis; grandchildren, Grayson Goetz and Harper Goetz; and sisters, Vickie S. Lemaire and Christine S. Maitre. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie Frederick Stelly and Gaston Stelly. The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Calcutta House for the care they gave to Deborah.
