Doyce Paul Guidry

Funeral services officiated by Deacon William "Billy" Vincent will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan honoring the life of Doyce Paul Guidry, 88, who passed away on September 20, 2026, at Kaplan Healthcare Center. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Stevens, Jade Guidry, Dustin Landry, Spence Doucet, Jaron Touchet, and Devan Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Kameron Frederick and Derek Guidry.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. The visitation will continue Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 8:00 AM until the services at 1:30 PM. 

Doyce's passion for flying led him to a fulfilling career as a pilot at Cris Crusta Airport. He loved cooking and enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends. A talented guitarist, he found great satisfaction in music, particularly with his proudest achievement of recording his own song.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Berley Chauvin Guidry of Kaplan; two sons, Shane Guidry (Nanette) of Kaplan and Tex Guidry of Kaplan; five daughters, Cindy Stevens of Maurice, Maxine Guidry (Robert) of Kaplan, Yvette Landry Frederick of Kaplan, Darnell Guidry of Kaplan and Sherri Guidry of Kaplan; one sister, Jackie Morgan of Youngsville; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Guidry and the former Lorena Landry and two sons-in-law, Leo Stevens and Craig Landry.
