Dr. Phillip Marvin Loeb

ABBEVILLE - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Phillip Marvin Loeb, who passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on April 21, 1937, in Champaign, Illinois, Phillip devoted his life to the service of others as a distinguished medical doctor specializing in family medicine. His commitment to healthcare and unwavering dedication to his patients were hallmarks of his career, leaving a lasting impact on the Abbeville, Louisiana community and beyond.

His remains will be respectfully cremated according to his wishes. A private memorial will be held to honor Phillip's remarkable life and contributions. Dr. Loeb earned his Doctorate in Medicine and practiced family medicine in California before joining the Department of Veterans Affairs in Lafayette. His unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of his patients left a profound impact on countless lives.

He is survived by his loving spouse of 47 years, Donna Branham Loeb; daughter, Jamie Loeb; step-sons, Rian Galbreath and David Galbreath; and step-daughter, Sarah Galbreath.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Rubin Loeb and the former Sohpie Weiser; and siblings, Helene Zukof and Sharon Stone.

He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and colleagues. Phillip's genuine compassion, wisdom, and dedication to his profession will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
