Elizabeth Elaine Miller

A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Bret J. Lee will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 14, 2026 at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Elizabeth Elaine Miller, 86, who passed away on August 11, 2026 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Nick Hensgens, Noah Hetzel, Gabriel Cramer, Koen Hensgens, Conrad Hensgens, and William Cramer. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Leiden Hensgens, Hans Hensgens, and Frederick Cramer.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Gueydan on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 9:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 1:45 PM with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM. 

Beth, as she was known to her family and friends, was a devout wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved her family fiercely and selflessly and was never shy about showing it. It was truly a gift to be loved by her. She was gentle and kind and always a lady. She was a devoted Catholic and served as a lay minister for her local community. In her later years she took up painting and became an accomplished painter, leaving many of her beautiful creations for her family to enjoy. She was also an avid gardener and grew gorgeous Bougainville and Hibiscus. Her husband Edwin lovingly took care of these flowers for her in her later years and they are thriving to this day. 

She is survived by her husband, Edwin Lloyd Miller; her children, Charles N. Hensgens III (Kathy), Bob Hensgens (Nancy), Mary Hetzel, Catherine Cramer (Fred), Brian Hensgens (April), and Karl Hensgens; her brother, Michael Edwin Miller (Dawn); her grandchildren, Nicholas Hensgens, Conrad Hensgens, Hannah Crochet, Hans Hensgens, Elizabeth Hensgens, Mary Hensgens, Sarah Hetzel, Noah Hetzel, Gabriel Cramer, William Cramer, Frederick Cramer Jr., Koen Hensgens, Leiden Hensgens, Lauryn Hensgens, Katherine Hensgens, Caroline Hensgens, and Alexandra Hensgens; and her great grandchildren, John Michael Hensgens, Emma Claire Hensgens, and Valerie Crochet.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Nicholas Hensgens, Jr.; as well as her parents, Edwin Russell Miller and the former Elaine McGee.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers Donna Wills, Angel Browning, and Wanda Thibodeaux, who took such loving care of her in her final months.
