Ellis was born and raised in Abbeville, LA and was a 1962 graduate of Mount Carmel. After serving our country in the Navy and graduating from USL, he then began his career as a certified public accountant practicing in Lafayette for more than 40 years.

Ellis was a loving husband, excellent father, wonderful grandfather and dear friend. He adored his wife, three daughters and six grandchildren. He loved attending events and activities in which they were all involved. He loved the beach, tennis, reading and spending time with his wife and friends. Ellis could always be found sitting on his swing on the back patio enjoying the weather while watching a ballgame or working crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rebecca "Becky" Trahan Bordelon of Lafayette; his three daughters, Emily and her husband, Scott Trahan and their children, Hunter, Gage and Remi, Ashley and her husband, Tad Dupuy and their children, Ellery, Taft and Audie, all of Maurice and Julie Bordelon of Lafayette; his two sisters, Mercedes Whitecloud of New Orleans and Florence and her husband, Dennis Crain of Abbeville; and his brother, Patrick Bordelon and his wife, Mary of Metairie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, P.W. Bordelon and the former Florence Broussard; one brother, Henry Eleazar; one sister, Marie Bordelon; brother-in-law, Tom Whitecloud; one nephew, Henry “Hank” Eleazar; and one godchild, Jacques Whitecloud.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at 2:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 PM lead by Florence Crain and Lisa Mendez.

The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice, Dr. Joseph Brierre, Dr. Richard Broussard and Dr. Weston Miller. Also a special thanks to all, our extended family and friends for assisting the past few weeks, especially Jennifer “NinJen-Tagalong” for being our backbone.
