A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Kaplan Baptist Cemetery in Nunez, LA, honoring the life of Floyd Weber, 88, who passed away on May 24, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Weber proudly served 21.5 years in the United States Air Force assigned to Japan, Germany, Okinawa, England, the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Arizona, Texas, Alaska, Pennsylvania, Alabama, and Colorado. While in service to his country, he received his Master's degree in Business Administration along with many awards and decorations including the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Medal, the Air Force Longevity Service Award with four Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. After completing his military service, he continued his career by serving as the Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital Administrator. He then served as the Financial Director for the Vermilion Parish School Board and later was the Business Manager for the Children & Adolescents Clinic in Kaplan and Abbeville. Floyd retired at the age of 76.
Beyond his professional achievements, Floyd was the co-author of "The Louisiana Gumbo Cookbook." He was also a passionate stamp collector, finding joy and adventure in each new addition to his collection. Over and above his hobbies, Floyd served faithfully for over 50 years as an active member of the Kaplan Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Beatrice Weber of Kaplan; one daughter, Rebecca and her husband, Gary Crawford of Lytle, TX; one son, Mark Weber and his wife, Stacie of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren, Mica and her husband, Cole Carawan, Clair and her husband, Cory Amy, Erin and her husband, Christopher Stapper, Timothy Weber and his wife, Neera Shahi, Isaac Crawford and his wife, Sara Furnish, Caleena Steelman and Clint Dorsey, Jr. and his wife, Christina Davila; and eight great grandchildren, Elijah Shahi, Logan Carawan, Emma Stapper, Rozzlyn Steelman, Logan Amy, Caedmon Stapper, Liam Carawan, Cyrus Steelman, and his beloved dog, Duchess.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oklan Weber and the former Marie Landry; one sister, Lou Ella Weber Trahan, and one brother, Melvin Weber.
