She loved to share God’s word—faithfully writing out scriptures and posting them so others could be encouraged and blessed by His promises.
Early in life, Frances was full of adventure. She enjoyed fishing and hunting, never afraid to get her hands dirty or face the elements. She carried that same strength and determination throughout her life, especially in her later years as she faced health battles with unshakable courage.
Frances was a devoted mother and grandmother who would give you the shirt off her back. She loved blessing people with gifts, and she poured her heart into every home-cooked meal—especially her desserts.
She had a strong personality and a spirit that never backed down. She wanted to be loved by everyone and often showed her love in thoughtful, quiet ways.
Frances found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening, spending time outdoors with her plants, and always keeping her hands busy. When she wasn’t working on her Bible lessons, she could often be found challenging her mind with Sudoku puzzles or enjoying her favorite Facebook games.
Frances is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Bernadette M. Foreman and her husband Keno, and Melissa A. DuBois and her husband Brian, Kim E.Trahan- Broussard and her fiance Brandon Hargrave; grandchildren, Maegan Foreman Lege, Aaron Broussard, Trent Boudreaux, Kelby Letchworth, Dillion Turner, Devin Turner, Destiny Turner, Prescilla Foreman, Claire Foreman, Katelyn Foreman, Jennie Foreman, Alaina Broussard, Maddie Foreman, and Cameron Broussard; and eighteeen great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip J. Abate, Sr. and the former Jennie Ognibene; and brother, Phillip “P.J.” Abate, Jr
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that she is now at rest—reunited with loved ones who went before her, including the love of her life, Presley “T-Boy” Trahan, whom she longed to see again. Most importantly, she is in the presence of the Lord she served so faithfully.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7
A Silent Tear
Just close your eyes and you will see
All the memories that you have of me
Just sit and relax and you will find
I’m really there inside your mind
Don’t cry for me now I’m gone
For I am in the land of song
There is no pain, there is no fear
So dry away that silent tear
Don’t think of me in the dark and cold
For here I am, no longer old
I’m in that place that is filled with love
Known to you all as “UP Above”
