Glenda Herpin, 82, of Kaplan died on December 7, 2025. More importantly, she lived 82 beautiful years as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
In the 62 years they were married, she and Carlton had four children, and they created a home and a beautiful backyard sanctuary where friends and family gathered. Their house was also home to many exchange students who have become extended family all around the world. She loved her friends! The laughter that filled the room when they were together was contagious.
Glenda and Carlton traveled extensively to see friends, or with friends to beautiful places. She spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking delicious food. She also spent a lot of time in her yard and house creating a warm and inviting space, and a lot of time in her front room by herself reading, writing, praying and listening to music that fed her soul. All, so that she could bring us together and surround us with love and comfort. So, whether you knew her as Mrs. Glenda from her bus or classroom, or mom or GG or Aunt/Nan Glenda because you were part of her family, or just Glenda because she was your friend- know that she took that role seriously and prepared diligently to be there for you. Because she believed that "we may not have it all together but together we have it all."
Her light and love will live on through her husband of 62 years, Carlton Herpin, her son, Chris and his wife, Andi of Kaplan; her daughter, Kim Gedgoudas and her husband Mike of Birmingham, AL; Stephanie Favoloro (Thad); her brother, Gaylon Wamble and his wife Linny of Denver, CO; her six grandchildren, Victoria Herpin, Taylor Herpin (JP), Michaela Herpin Lee (Alex), Ridge Herpin (Victoria), Andrew Gedgoudas and Sidney Gedgoudas; and her seven great-grandchildren, Will, Henry, Anna Barbara, Clyde, Kenneth-Wayne, Neva and Mamie.
She will be warmly welcomed into her new home by her two sons, Thad and Dane Herpin and her mother, Frankie Wamble.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that random acts of kindness be done in her memory.
A celebration of life will be planned in the Spring when her flowers are blooming, our hearts are mending, and we can gather to truly honor her legacy of love and laughter.
All funeral arrangements are being conducted by Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan (337) 643-7276.
