ABBEVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Helen Leblanc Sagrera, 84, will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 19, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church, with Rev. Emmanuel Fernandez officiating. Helen passed away on October 15, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. She will be laid to rest at Esther Community Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers will be Toby Clark, Neko Clark, Benjamin Sagrera, John Ford, Roger Brown, and Anthony Sagrera.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville, on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 12:15 PM, when the procession will depart for the church. A rosary will be prayed at 11:30 AM.

Helen was born on October 30, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a child, she enjoyed singing and later sang in the choir at St. James Catholic Church. She grew up in Delcambre, Louisiana, and moved to Esther after meeting her husband, Sherrill. She worked as a secretary before becoming a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Sherrill Sagrera; her children, Gary Sagrera (Carla), Lisa Sagrera, Danny Sagrera (Julie), and Kelley Clark (Toby); her grandchildren, Alaine' Ford (John), Benjamin Sagrera, and Neko Clark; her great-grandchildren, Audrey Sagrera, Lena Ford, Sirus Sagrera, and Liam Ford; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Leblanc and Mabel Falgout Leblanc, and her brothers, Robert Leblanc and Neal Leblanc.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Helen’s honor to Esther Community Cemetery.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, especially Lauren and Torie.
