Henry Barry
Faciane
Sep 10, 1963 — Aug 24, 2026
Lafayette, LA
The defining things in Henry Barry Faciane’s life were the three F’s - Faith, Family and Fishing. His faith was evident in the way he lived, his love of family was unquestionable, and as to fishing, what else could be said.
Henry could be described as someone you could depend on. You could depend on him to make you laugh. You could depend on him for support. If you needed something fixed you could depend on him to know how, to get the job done, and to teach you about it along the way.
At the age of around 15 Henry began working part time at the family business, Intracoastal City Drydock & Shipbuilding. After completing his education he returned to the family business and worked in every role. By the time of his retirement he was the president and CEO of the business.
Henry passed away on August 24, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. At the time of his death he was waiting on a lung transplant. Henry was born in Abbeville, Louisiana on September 10, 1963, the 7th of eight children. His parents were Lewis James Faciane and Annette West Faciane. Henry found the love of his life, Dana Marie Merrill, at First Baptist Church in Abbeville. They were married on July 14,1984. He was the proud father of four children, Henry Barry Faciane, II, Jacob Faciane, Danielle Faciane Morgan, and Emily Faciane. One of his greatest enjoyments in life was time spent with his grandchildren, Avia Faciane, Peyton Faciane, Maverick Morgan, Haven Morgan, August Morgan, Ivy Faciane, and Vivian Faciane.
Henry is also survived by two sisters, Beverly Faciane Spell and Jackie Schroder, and three brothers, James Carl Faciane, Lewis Cecil Faciane, and John Paul Faciane.
Two brothers, Frank “Lukie” Phillips and William Ellis Faciane, predeceased him.
