Hilda Sagrera Choate

ABBEVILLE- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 30, 2024 at St. James Catholic Church in Esther, LA., honoring the life of Hilda Sagrera Choate, 78, who passed away on November 26, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

Father Emmanuel "Many" Fernandez will officiate at the funeral mass. Burial will follow at Esther Community Cemetery.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM when the procession will depart for church. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Friday.

Hilda was born on October 14, 1946 in Abbeville.

She is survived by her daughter, Michele McNeil (Van Jr.) of Abbeville, Louisiana; son, John Broussard (Yulene) of State College, Pennsylvania; son, Adam Broussard of New Orleans, Louisiana; brother, Austin Sagrera of Abbeville, Louisiana; her 6 grandchildren, Van McNeil III, Zachary McNeil, Isaac McNeil, Shoshana Broussard, Lucienne Broussard, Simon Broussard; her one great grandchild, Christian Stern.

She is preceded in death by her father, Isaac Sagrera; mother, Cecile Segrera; brother, Nelson Sagrera; brother, George Sagrera; sister, Shirley Gremillion; husband, Alton Choate.

Pallbearers will be Van McNeil III, Zachary McNeil, Isaac McNeil, Kimble Sagrera, Guy Gremillion, Greg Sagrera.

Honorary pallbearers will be Drake Gaspard, Gage Gaspard, Bryce Sagrera, Simon Broussard, and Neko Clark.
