Lou was married for 73 wonderful years to her devoted husband, Jeffery Meaux. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories and shared passions. As an enthusiastic painter, Lou often found joy in expressing herself through art, and she cultivated a love for bird watching that brought her peace and inspiration. Her curiosity led her to explore genealogy, tracing family histories and weaving together the stories of her ancestors, and her passion for reading and traveling enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Lou dedicated much of her life to education, teaching business classes and inspiring countless students with her knowledge and enthusiasm. Her influence on her students and her community will be remembered fondly. Lou is survived by her loving husband, Jeffery Meaux; daughter, Donna Lormand and her husband, Ward of Scott; sons, Jeff Meaux and his wife, Pam of Houston, TX, and Michael Meaux and his wife, Nancy of Abbeville; eleven grandchildren, Jeannie, Courtney, Benjamin, John-Curtis, Thomas, Emily, Connor, Camille, Corey, Alaina, and Madison; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raywood Edwin Libersat and the former Marie Eliza Richard; daughters, Patricia Meaux, Lisa Meaux, and Cheryl Meaux; sisters, Ray Ann Libersat, Elaine Moore, and Geneva Theall; and brothers-in-law, Sam Moore and Donald “Bubba” Theall.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to The Vermilion at Eastridge and Hospice of Acadiana for the exceptional care provided during her final days.
